This is something that has always confused me. Vets have a wide array of skills to perform - including diagnosis, surgery, anesthesia, post patient care. Yet emotionally there is a large burden of guilt when things go wrong because many vets do care - they develop an association with their client. I guess its just because people will only pay so much for their animals - but if a human has an issue, cost has no boundaries. From my observation the salary of a vet is not proportional to their skill set which is both wide and varied - its just what the market is willing to pay. So is there a way to improve the situation?
